A Brief History
On November 28, 1916, the “Congregation of St. Francis Xavier's Roman Catholic Church” was incorporated. In June 1919, St. Francis Xavier was officially dedicated. Thanks to the generosity of the Sisters of the Holy Family, the school and convent were built in 1920, giving St. Francis Xavier the distinction of having the first parish school in the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
